Is the Bundl Wool Wrap SIDs certified?
In Australia there is no available certification or approval for infant sleeping products or their design.
Instead we look to Red Nose Australia who provide a number of recommendations and guidelines to promote safe sleeping for our precious little ones.
The Bundl Wool Wrap is designed to conform to a number of these recommendations, for example:
- It encourages bub to sleep on their back, with their face and head uncovered.
- The wool duvet only comes up to baby’s chest height and not over the face.
- The side wings are adjustable and can be Velcroed tightly over the top of bub to restrict movement, prevent bub from sliding and help them to feel safe and secure.
- The recommended age bracket for use of the wrap is newborn to 5 months. At this stage bub is not usually moving very much. It is not recommended for use if bub is excessively mobile or crawling.
In addition we strongly recommend new parents to visit rednose.org.au to familiarise themselves with all of the guidance around how to safe sleep. This way a parent is armed with all the information and are best placed to make an informed choice about what is best for them and their baby.
Whilst a new baby is an absolute blessing, we also understand that the arrival of an infant can be an overwhelming time and we believe that the comfort and peace of mind for a new parent is absolutely the most important thing.
What TOG rating is the Bundl Wool Wrap?
Generally bedding that is made from polyester or synthetic fibre fillings that can consistently perform to a testing standard or set temperature range tend to be tog rated. In general bedding or sleeping bags made with wool are not tog rated, as they are natural fibre which adjusts according to temperature, this is one of the reasons natural fibres such as wool are so popular. Wool is also amazing at wicking moisture away from the skin and has incredible temperature regulating properties. Just by varying the clothing underneath, this wrap is ideal in temperatures from roughly 14 to 25 degrees.
What age is the Bundl Wool Wrap recommended for?
The wool wrap is designed for use for infants from birth to approximately 5 months of age. Some may get a little longer use depending on the size and mobility of their baby. The adjustable Velcro side wings allow the wrap to grow with the baby.
How do I use the Bundl Wool Wrap?
The wool wrap has been designed with ease and simplicity in mind. Simply lay baby down on the wrap, fold up the wool duvet up to baby’s chest height and fold over the side wings, fastening with the adjustable Velcro to the desired tightness.
